FREE – Matching V-Log Cameras to Canon ‘Cine’ Log 3 / Rec709

I’ve developed some Lumix V-Log V-Gamut to a more Canon Rec709 look as a lot of people have been commenting over the years that they’ve found it hard to match Lumix cameras with V-Log to Canon cameras. Using the popular Canon Cinema Gamut and Canon Log3, I’ve adjusted the colour science of V-Log primaries keeping the white point fixed to D65 and analysed V-Gamut to make it more appealing to users who want to match it to Canon cameras. These have been created using all the pro charts etc…

Subsequently, skin tones and reds will look less saturated, less magenta and a tad more green to balance in the following LUTs.

Try them out and let me know if you like or prefer it over the standard V-Log to Rec709 LUT from Panasonic.

I’ve named them as follows – with filenames preceding with ‘D1’ which is a less saturated colour science adaptation to lean towards Canon Rec709 look and ‘D2’ for the more saturated skin tone look of the Canon rec709. D3 is D2 with a tiny extra less red.

(Above pic) Here’s the S5II Trial LUT 01 Graded version versus my D2 Canon Log3 to Rec709 / Panasonic MID V-Log Crossover, plus, versus the original Panasonic Vlog to rec709 v100 cube.
